The Miraculous Berry
Ever heard of elderberry? Well, it’s one of the most widely used herbs in the folk traditions. Why, you ask? Historically, it’s flowers and leaves have been used for pain relief, swelling and inflammation. While the berries have also been used to help treat influenzas, infections, sciatica, and headaches. Although be sure not to eat them uncooked as they can cause nausea and vomiting. Elderberries are super low carb but pack a ton of antioxidants! They’re high in vitamin C, phenolic acids, and flavonols all aimed at boosting your immune system. More information can be found on Science Direct. Elderberries are a fundamental part of my Immunity Booster recipe. At the onset of a cold or flu take a teaspoon every half hour or so until you start to feel better. My personal experience has been that it tends to reduce my cold symptoms by 1 – 2 days. Check it out here!
